BLUE MARINE FOUNDATION - LONDON TO MONACO 2018 - Final Day 25th September

Sara-Jane Skinner of the Blue Marine Foundation has invited all members of the COCC to participate in the final day of this year’s London to Monaco 2018 Charity ride - Full details are below.

London to Monaco is an annual cycle ride, now in its third year, organised by Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE). In the last two years, 150 riders from 12 countries have helped to raise over £570,000 for BLUE’s ocean conservation work around the world. The 2018 edition will run over 7 days, departing from London, crossing 8 countries and finishing at the Palace in Monaco on the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show. This year’s funds will help support BLUE’s projects on Ascension Island and St Helena in the Atlantic, a network of effective marine protected areas in the Mediterranean, its parent project in Lyme Bay, situated on UK’s Jurassic coast and the Beyond Plastic Med an initiative to free the Mediterranean from plastic with Foundation Prince Albert II de Monaco.

“Oceans are more than ever at the heart of our common future. The London to Monaco Cycle Ride is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness on the necessity to protect our fragile oceans.” HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco

BLUE would like to welcome riders from Monaco and the S. France to join them on the last day of the ride from Albenga to Monaco. The 114 kilometre stunning coastal route incorporates parts of the famous Milan-San Remo route, incorporating the Porggio climb before arriving for a royal welcome by Prince Albert at his Palace.
